Joe Gorga claimed his active sex life with his wife Melissa Gorga is the secret to their happy marriage, as Melissa shared they didn’t have sex for three months at the start of their relationship.
The father-of-three also revealed his wife “took a beating” when she first entered his family. Throughout multiple seasons of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, the couple’s rocky relationship with his sister Teresa Giudice has been a central focus.
In an interview for Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast, Joe claimed he and his wife – who’ve been married for 19 years – are still having lots of sex.
“I mean, you got to do it,” he said. “Listen, if you don’t do it, you walk around, and you become roommates. I don’t want a roommate that costs me a lot of money.”
He went on to say, “What happens is when you do it, then you walk downstairs the next day … and you touch each other. But if you don’t, you’re like, ‘Hey, how are you doing? Did you pay that bill?’”
According to Melissa, the couple didn’t make love for almost three months as they began their relationship.
“I took her out … I wanted her so bad, but I wouldn’t touch her,” Joe then explained. “I played with her. I would have her come over, and I would give her a little kiss.”
The star added, “I wanted to touch her … I wanted to go to second base so bad, but then I said ‘go home.’”
Apparently, the waiting was worth it – as their first time together was like “fireworks.”
Regarding Melissa’s “biggest turn-off,” Joe answered: “asking for sex.” Melissa, however, corrected him saying, “chewing with food in his mouth.”
As for himself, Joe said his strongest turn-off is Melissa saying “no to sex.”
He also told the outlet that almost everyone in his family gave Melissa a hard time when she first entered the circle.
“My mother was rough on her, my dad was rough on her,” said the 43-year-old, jokingly adding, “and my sister was great!”
The star continued, “[Melissa’s] a good woman, and then she married into an old-school Italian family, and she took a beating — she did … And that’s why I respect her and love her because you know what, she’s the best.”
